China Expands Long-Term LNG Supply Agreement

Venture Global Inc. and China Gas Holdings Limited (China Gas) have signed a new 20-year sales and purchase agreement (SPA) that will see China Gas purchase an additional 0.5 MTPA of liquefied natural gas (LNG) beginning in 2030.
The latest agreement increases China Gas’ total long-term contracted LNG offtake from Venture Global to 2.5 MTPA across multiple 20-year supply agreements.
The deal further strengthens Venture Global’s position in the Asian LNG market, where long-term contracts continue to underpin growing demand for energy security and supply diversification. China remains one of the world’s largest LNG import markets, with utilities and gas distributors seeking stable, long-duration supply sources to support industrial, commercial, and residential consumption.
Venture Global has rapidly expanded its presence in the global LNG sector, with more than 100 MTPA of LNG production, construction, and development capacity across its portfolio. The company began LNG production at its first facility in 2022 and has since become one of the largest LNG exporters in the United States. Its operations extend across the LNG value chain, including natural gas transportation, LNG production, shipping, and regasification.
The company’s flagship projects, Calcasieu Pass, Plaquemines LNG, and CP2 LNG, are located along the Gulf Coast of Louisiana. Venture Global is also advancing carbon capture and sequestration initiatives at each of its LNG facilities.
China Gas is one of China’s largest integrated energy suppliers, operating city gas distribution networks, LNG and LPG terminals, storage and transportation infrastructure, and gas logistics systems that serve residential, commercial, and industrial customers across the country.
