Managing reciprocating compressor fleets amid changing operating and economic conditions will be the special topic of the 15th EFRC Conference, scheduled for September 2027 in The Hague, the Netherlands.

The European Forum for Reciprocating Compressors (EFRC) said the theme, “Managing your fleet of recips in a dynamic environment,” will examine how operators are responding to shifting demands across fleets of machines operating at multiple sites and under different conditions.

In Europe, refinery closures have increased pressure on remaining facilities to maximize the performance and availability of existing compressors. At the same time, operators are contending with higher energy costs, volatile crude oil prices and feedstock sources, changing process requirements and spare parts availability.

Similar pressures affect process gas plants, where energy costs and cyclical demand can influence compressor operating strategies.

EFRC said the conference will focus on how operators balance reliability, maintenance and operating requirements across multiple machines. The organization is particularly seeking presentations from end users and operators describing actual operating problems and the decisions made in response. Joint presentations involving operators and their equipment or service suppliers are also encouraged.

Presentations covering research and development, EFRC projects and precompetitive research will remain part of the conference program.

The 15th EFRC Conference will be held Sept. 28-30, 2027, at the Louwman Museum in The Hague. EFRC said conference registration will open at a later date.
